I spent the early part of the day romping around in the Coralville Mall, celebrating my roommate’s birthday! As we were leaving, we thought it would be adorably appropriate for us to each spend a quarter on the wide selection of the quarter machines! Chelsea went first, hoping for the pink seal, and BAM! There it was in her hand. Ben followed her lead, wistfully waiting for the little crab creature. The machine was feeling generous. I went third, hoping for a cute little clam, or some other friendly looking sea creature. Instead, I received the middle topper (above). It was the shape of the blowfish topper, but all of the other blowfish were colored a friendly yellow and had cute faces. We carefully examined the case looking for another one like mine. There were none. It appears some disgruntled factory worker painted the body green, gave it bloodshot eyes, and hand-marked some angry eyebrows on it. I’m not sure what to make of this.
